Terms and Conditions 

By booking an appointment with us you are in agreement with our terms and conditions.



Cancellations

 

 In the event that you do not show up to an appointment without any notice the cancellation fee will be full groom price. Cancellations within 48 hours of the appointment you will loose your deposit and you will have to pay a new deposit to book another appointment. Cancellations on the day of your appointment will be charged for the full amount of the groom. If you no show 3 times within one calendar year this will result in a ban. 


 

Toileting

 

Please allow your dog to go to the toilet before entering the salon to prevent accidents. Any item soiled by your dog will be added to your bill.

 

Emergencies

 

In the event of an Emergency. I authorise this establishment to immediately seek professional veterinary attention for my pet at my expense. I understand that all attempts will be made to contact me in the event of any emergency.

 

Coat condition

 

I understand that if my Pet’s coat is matted. That there is an increased risk for clipper burn or cuts to occur. This is due to the difficulty of attempting to get sharp clipper blades between the skin and the Matts. I understand that the groomer is not held responsible for such occurrences. Although they will take all the necessary precautions to prevent this. I also understand that matted pet’s take additional time to groom. We have a non-de-matting policy, in compliance with Animal Welfare Act (2007) section 5 which states that 'All animals are to be protected from pain, injury, suffering and disease'. Attempting to brush out heavy matting would lead to a great deal of discomfort for a dog. Instead we will at all times advice clipping to remove the matted and damaged coat. If your pet has become matted, we require your permission to clip before we begin the groom. Where pets are heavily matted, an extra charge of up to £15 to remove the coat will apply, on top of the regular groom price.

 

Fleas

 

I understand that it is my responsibility to ensure my pet is flea and wormed on a regular basis. In the event that fleas are found on my dog during a groom and extra charge (£5 per dog) will be added to the regular groom price to cover the price of fleas shampoo and the precautionary cleaning of the salon to prevent them spreading to other dogs.

 

Extra dirty

 

If your dog comes in unreasonably dirty an extra £5 fee will be added to bill for the additional wash/ washes. In the event that your dog is over grown and is too dirty to be pre-clipped an extra fee of £10 will be added for the additional shampoo and extra drying time.  

 

Medical

 

I understand that grooming can be stressful for some pets and that declaring any medical conditions before grooming starts is essential. I understand that this is only to ensure my pet’s is handled correctly and that the groomer can be prepared in the event of an emergency. We will not be responsible for any injury or worsening of any injury or condition your pet had prior to being groomed.

Oh my paws only use the best high quality dog shampoo on all our clients however there is a risk of allergic reaction. In the event that your dog has an allergic reaction please notify your groomer and we can try an alternative shampoo or alternatively you can bring your own shampoo for us to use. We do not accept liability if your dog has an allergic reaction.

 

Bitches in season

 

If your bitch comes in to season please notify me 24 hrs before your appointment so I can make sure it will not interfere with any other appointments that day. I reserve the right to rearrange the appointment to a more suitable time.We cannot groom pregnant dogs due to the high risk of complications. We will not be responsible for any complications that arise due to being groomed whilst pregnant. If you do not notify us we will end the groom immediately if we suspect your dog is pregnant.

 

Behaviour

 

If my pet’s behaviour is unacceptable and the groomer feels like it is unsafe for them to continue or the dog has or is going to harm itself or the groomer. They reserve the right to discontinue grooming at any time.

 

Due to working with live animals and sharp instruments there is always the risk of cuts. Our groomers are trained in safe practices and we do our very best to minimise and avoid this however it is always a risk when grooming dogs that move suddenly and or unexpectedly.



 

Photographs

 

Your Dog may be photographed before, during and or after their groom. These photographs may be used on Oh My paws Dog Grooming Facebook, instagram, tik tok or other social media profiles. Please let us know if you would prefer your pet not to be photographed.




 

Time Keeping

 

Please be punctual. I work by appointment only; the appointment slot allocated for your pet's groom has been booked at your request exclusively. I do not double book appointments; a no-show is lost income. I also offer a free appointment reminder; by text.

 

Most grooms take between 1 - 3 hours or more depending on the size and temperament of the dog, and its coat condition. You will be advised what time to collect your pet. It is advisable not to enter the salon before this time, as your presence may distract your pet during the finishing stage of its groom.  It is essential that you collect your pet at the agreed time as once the groom is finished your dog will be eager to go home and may become unsettled or anxious and cause a distraction to the next dog being groomed.  Late collections (after 30 mins) will incur an extra charge of £5 every 15 minutes or part of.

 

Please phone me if you are running late. I understand that from time to time unforeseen circumstances may arise. Please note if your are more than 15 mins late to your appointment we may not have enough time to groom your dog and you will be charged for the missed appointment.

 

Prices

 

Quotes given over the phone or message are approximate and may be subject to change after the first consultation. These quotes are given on the expectation that the dog is a good example of the breed, good temperament and not matted. Your groom price is not fixed and if your dog needs extra work for example you went to the beach and fluffy is matted from all the fun. Your grooming price may be more for one appointment.

 

Payment

 

Full payment for services (agreed either at the time of booking or subsequently) is to be made within 24 Hours of the groom completion by the date specified on the invoice via cash, cheque or (only available for existing clients) a bank transfer. If payment is not made within this time 10% of the total bill will be added for each day that payment is overdue.

 

Alterations

 

If, after the groom is complete, there is anything about the groom that you would like altered, please advise your groomer accordingly before you leave the salon. We are never offended by timely requests to make minor changes, so please ask.

 

 

 

 

 

Data Protection

 

As part of the data protection act (GDPR) it is now necessary for me to inform you of the information I keep about you and your dog. How it is stored, and to receive permission for specific information to be stored and used.

 

The following information is stored on your dog grooming record card.

 

-the details which you have given me about your dog, your name, address and contact number and your vet practice

 

-Details of the groom that has been carried out on your dog- i.e. what blades, length and style.

 

-any dislikes or medical conditions

 

-and lumps, warts that have been found during the health assessment,

 

-These cards are kept in hard copy format only and locked away each night.

 

- your first name and or you dogs name and breed is saved on to my mobile so I am able to communicate with you about your appointments, and to advise you on when your dog should be collected. No other of your information is saved on my mobile. We will text you upon booking and the day before your appointment so you can save the date and time of your appointment. My mobile is password protected.

 

Any non-returning customer cards will be destroyed after 3 years from your last visit.

 

We DO NOT share your information with any other 3rd party
